i built the current stack for my college radio station's website.

it used to be a single page app with a somewhat broken custom router. i migrated it to next.js, and i also added some cool features. here is an incomplete list of them:

duck chess

i'm working on a chess-like browser game.

i'm building the backend with rust and the frontend with next.js. the basic functionality works, but i have a lot more planned for it.

done

• simple matchmaking
• text chat between players during a game
• server generates moves and client can move their pieces
• nice animations for pieces moving
• standard chess pieces

roadmap

• silly chess pieces
  • a piece that causes gravity to shift the whole board
  • a piece that can "steal" the moveset of an adjacent piece
  • a piece that changes the colors of the tiles it lands on (bishops still can't leave their colors)
  • a piece that leaves ice that sliding pieces can slip on
• deckbuilding
  • you should be able to choose which pieces you start with
• more sophisicated matchmaking

it isn't at the stage where i would feel comfortable deploying it, but you can watch me build it on my github.
